Meet Jean

Jean Becker

Growing up with haircuts courtesy of students learning their craft and dresses from a donation box at the orphanage where she lived didn't stop Jean from smiling so much...

Jean Becker

...her face stayed that way!

A Full Life of Accomplishments

While raising four children, Jean taught art in grades 1-8, worked on legislation and fund raising to benefit handicapped children, was first place winner in a tri-city public speaking competition and also appeared in TV commercials.

Later, she founded and operated a cooking school and gourmet shop, known for selling over 16 tons of chocolate in one year, wrote a weekly food column for the St. Charles Chronicle, and co-hosted a weekly radio talk show on WRMN-AM in Elgin, Illinois.

As executive director of the St. Charles Convention & Visitors Bureau, she restored a 1968 Leland double-decker British bus, created and implemented the St. Charles Scarecrow Festival, and published an annual tourism magazine.  Jean received seven annual awards from Illinois Governors Thompson and Edgar for excellence in tourism promotion.

Jean was a teenage bride and has been married to Joe for over 50 years, and they said it would never last!  (But, she didn’t listen to them.)

After retirement...
she became an author, keynote speaker and trainer!
